Teams will compete and solve real-world problems faced by the oil and gas industry.

<h2>Devon Energy Hackathon 2022 - #HacktotheFuture</h2><h2>Hackathon Details</h2>When: Oct. 5, 7:15 a.m. – 5 p.m.Oct. 6, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. (including awards ceremony and networking event)Where:Devon Energy Center, 333 W. Sheridan Ave., Oklahoma City, 73102Requirements•	All teams and team members must be registered by Friday, Sept. 23•	Every participant must at least 18 years old and register as a member of a team of 3-5 people. At least one team member should have coding skills. •	Participants must agree to release source code created for the hackathon event into the public domain under the MIT license. A Github location will be provided to hackathon competitors. Space is limited, please apply and we will contact you to confirm your team application status. <h2>Hackathon event FAQs: </h2>Q: What is a hackathon? A: A hackathon is a problem-solving event where people from different disciplines get together to generate ideas and solutions to real-world problems.Q: Do I need to be familiar with the oil and gas industry to participate or to have a chance of winning? A: Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with the industry, judges are most concerned with creativity and innovative solutions. Q: Can I participate if I’m an employee of a Devon Energy competitor? A: Absolutely! All source code that results from the event will be posted to a public Github repository and released under the MIT open-source license. Q: Will my contact information be shared? A: Yes, participant names and email information will be shared with sponsors only. Q: What are the project topics? Will they be provided by Devon? A: Topics should be about the oil and gas industry and projects may be assigned by Devon or brought in by a team if they don’t use existing code. Q: What equipment should I bring to the hackathon? A: Bring a laptop and charger along with any additional hardware you may want to use in your hack.Q: Will Devon provide overnight accommodations for participants during the event? A: No. If you are traveling from out of town and require accommodations, please book them in advance. Q: Are there any COVID restrictions?A: No, currently there are no COVID restrictions for the hackathon. Q: How will teams compete and be judged? A: Teams receive 5-10 min. to present their projects to event judges for evaluation. Q: What if we win?A: Other than bragging rights, winners from each of the two challenge categories will receive Prizes during the awards ceremony on Oct 6th. All participants will receive a Sponsored Swag Bag. Q: Will food be provided?A: Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.
