About this event
Hack Homelessness is UC Hastings' design challenge, bringing together lawyers, developers, designers, builders and thinkers with the objective of finding technology solutions to some of the most pressing legal issues that keep the homeless population of San Francisco on the streets. Teams will compete to implement technology solutions for a legal issue related to one of several identified causes of homelessness.
We are hosting participants with varying amounts of experience in the legal, design and computer science fields. No prior coding or hacking experience is required. Hacking will take place from Sunday, November 8, to Friday, November 13, 2020, and teams will give their final presentations on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Teams can work on their own schedule throughout the week, and we will provide the resources needed to form teams and learn more about the legal issues surrounding homelessness.
We're looking for engineers, designers, and anyone passionate about creating a social impact and positive change for one of the Bay Area's most pressing issues. Will you join us?

About the organizer
LexLab, at UC Hastings Law, is an innovation hub for emerging legal technologies. We have three areas of focus: a certificate in law and technology for students; an accelerator for legal tech startups on campus where our students and alumni can interact with entrepreneurs and provide support in various ways; and regular large and small scale community events focused on the intersection of law and technology.
