The members of Breaking the Mold believe in equity of opportunity, inclusion, and diversity in the workforce. Breaking the Mold believes that business school is the perfect environment to begin discussing - and solving - many of the most pervasive bias and discrimination issues affecting the workplace, and beyond.Hacking Discriminationis a MIT Black alumni initiated group, including researchers and technologists from the MIT community.  We believe we can utilize technology and a truly inclusive design process to bear witness to discrimination in a way that can be used for future advocacy, build a community to support change, and generate tangible solutions to complex issues where bias and discrimination are critical factors.Together, we believe that people from multiple disciplines, perspectives and experiences are needed to make change in this area happen.

Breaking the Mold and Hacking Discrimination

Hack for Inclusion will bring together some of the best and brightest minds from surrounding communities to build solutions that address some of today's biggest problems related to bias, diversity, and inclusion. This event will bring together both technical and non-technical backgrounds to address 15-20 different challenges related to diversity and inclusion. Key topic areas will range from racial bias, gender bias, and culture bias. 
The event will take place at the MIT Media Lab on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23. All meals during the event will be served free of charge. 
Full list of challenges will be sent to participants in January. At that point, participants will be asked to rank challenges by interest for team formation purposes.
