About this event

  • 2 hours

Join us for the second in our Habitat Hero workshop series and gain some new skills and confidence to take home with you to your garden. Bring out the natural beauty of your trees, shrubs, evergreens, and hedges by learning to prune with confidence! Join Becky Pobst, Director of Forestry at Friends of Grand Rapids Parks and International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist, to discover when to prune, proper techniques and best tools, the physiology of pruning, and risk assessment.

Over the course of two hours we will learn from Becky about best practices in pruning and then we will have opportunities to practice these skills! The required equipment for this event will be closed-toe shoes, work/gardening gloves (extras will be available if you do not have any), and proper hydration because we will be outdoors during the summer.
