H+ Roundtable "Going Meta with the Brain"

How does it work? First, please be online in advance so that you are present when the Roundtable starts! Participants open with a 1-minute position statement (quick-fire). Discussion and debate between participants continues and ends with each making a closing statement for the 30-minute round. Attendees have an opportunity to post their comments in the chat.

H+ Workshops – 30 Minutes or longer: 3 Workshops to Attend!

Workshops begin at the end of the roundtable and are hosted by members. The workshops are simultaneous and you can join all of them! Below are the three hosts and their topics:

Workshops are facilitated by members and take place after the Roundtable. These workshops are organized by members, who select their own topics.

Room #1 - Summary: This workshop is focused on the importance of ethics in the future of humanity. Let's ask: Why does humanity matter and does humanity deserve indefinite lifespans? These are important questions and must consider the entirety of human nature. We must understand fundamentally what it means to be human and how human nature will evolve with the exponential increase in our longevity. Transhumanists agree that humanity can evolve to be more humane. But what does being more humane really mean? Our workshop will kick off this conversation and discuss how to integrate being more humane in our daily lives. In this way, we can aim for a more enlightened and inspired species that continues to give back to the very cosmos that created us.

Room #2 - Summary: There are 2 main misconceptions about virtual reality: That it is a technology used only for games; and that it is very expensive. This workshop explores how Virtual Reality has finally achieved its product-market-fit by presenting stats about the industry, with a focus on 2020. Interest areas include: Applications of VR in mental health and the Future of Virtual Reality as a transhumanistic technology.

Room #3 - Summary: This workshop is focused on the next global transhumanist summit, which we are scheduling in beautiful Spain after the pandemic. TransVision 2021 will be organized in the beautiful and historic Ateneo de Madrid, in the same place where Albert Einstein spoke, and where all Spanish Nobel laureates have been members from Santiago Ramón y Cajal to Mario Vargas Llosa. The Ateno de Madrid will be celebrating its first 200 years, and so we will consider the next 200 years during this unique bicentennial, considering all the technologies that will transform humanity to achieve unlimited intelligence, unlimited longevity, and unlimited wellbeing. Transhumanists from all around the world will come to Spain, the land of Plus Ultra, so join us for this timeless event, literally!
