This event is free and open to farmers and agriculture businesses.Are you interested in hiring H-2A workers in the future and are curious about the program? This lunch &amp; learn is for you! Hear from Gideon Cooper with LaborMex about the process, timeline, and recommendations on how to prepare before applying. Greg Strausbaugh with Job Service ND will provide insights on housing requirements for H-2A workers and what the housing inspection looks like.Enjoy a free lunch and hear from program experts about the H-2A Visa Program. The H-2A temporary agricultural program helps employers who anticipate a lack of available domestic workers to bring foreign workers to the U.S. to perform temporary or seasonal agricultural work including, but not limited to, planting, cultivating, or harvesting labor.

Gideon Cooper is the Director of Client Relations at LaborMex, a leader in connecting North American ag and food production employers with legal seasonal workers through the H-2A and H-2B visa programs. Gideon will share an overview of the H2A process, what to have in place before applying for the program, estimated timeline and cost, and what to know about choosing a consulting firm.

Greg Strausbaugh is an Employment Advisor at Job Service ND and is tasked with administering housing inspections across the state for the H-2A Visa program. Greg will share his experience in what they look for during inspections and what is needed to provide adequate housing for workforce.
