Guild Wheel Walk

Guild Wheel Walk

Overview

The 10th Annual Guild Wheel Walk fundraising event. Our local community, supporting local charities, while supporting each other.

The Guild Wheel Walk started in 2017 for our friend’s family who needed our support, the year later we went on to fundraise for all our local charities, totalling 8 so far, with our passionate community and we are proud to have raised thousands throughout these years.

The Guild Wheel is a 21-mile walking and cycling route, encircling Preston and providing a link from the city to the countryside. The Guild Wheel is a great way to make the most of the many forms of landscapes that make this city what it is - by rambling the River Ribble and canal sides to ancient woodland, city centre parkland, historic docklands and attractive nature reserves.

The Guild Wheel is a must for all walking enthusiasts. You can challenge yourself to the full route or join at one of the other points listed below. You will also find many places to stop off along the way.

There will be support at each meeting point for those that need it. We suggest you bring you own food for the day, plenty of fluids, comfy socks and footwear as you are your own responsibility.

Here is a brief outline of the day:

  • MEET: 8/8:30am to register and set off at 9am - There is no need to come to registration if you are meeting us on the route for the shorter distances. There will be support at each point to register you.
  • COST: £10 per person plus any other donations welcomed. Kids go for free, and they can also ride their bikes. There is a Just Giving Page which we encourage to share to all friends and family.
  • 21 miles – 0900hrs set off from Bar51, 49-51 Leyland Road, Penwortham, PR19QH.
  • 14 miles – 11:30hrs from the Ancient Oak, Merry Trees Lane, Cottam, Preston, PR40NZ.
  • 7 miles – 1345hrs from Bluebell Way Services, Preston, PR25PZ.

There will be refreshments and food cooked by the community for when you finish at Bar51.

We do this so you can meet new people and challenge yourself, sometimes you need to focus on something to help you get out of the house, this supports our mental health by supporting others and by raising vital funds for our local charities.

We look forward to seeing you all on the day, it’s a day to remember in more ways than one!
