Description

The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, situated on the Streatham Campus, is home to one of the largest collections of material relating to the moving image in Britain. Both an accredited public museum and an academic research facility it holds a collection of over 75,000 items. The Lower Gallery explores the development of pre-cinema visual culture up to 1910 and the Upper Gallery celebrates cinema from 1910 to the present.

Find out more about the collection with the Curator, who will take you on a free guided tour.

Advance booking is essential as places on the tour are limited.

Whilst you are on campus please take the opportunity to visit the exhibition in the Forum, The Observatory: perspectives on landscape, society and spirit, featuring artworks from artists across the South West, who have created art inspired by the University's key research themes.

After your tour, why not have some lunch at Reed Hall? Reed Hall is an italianate mansion on Campus, set in one of the most beautiful parts of the grounds, which offers tea, coffee and lunch in its Cafe Reed. More information here: http://www.reedhall.co.uk/dining/cafe-reed/
