Join us for an incredible adventure on Helvellyn in the heart of the Lake District.

Our Guided Mountain Days are perfect for nature enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike. Get ready to explore the renowned Helvellyn via Striding Edge and Swirral Edge, accompanied by your guide Rob Green who will share his knowledge of the dramatic landscape, provide coaching and ensure your safety along the way.


Event Details

This is a group event for up to 8 people, welcoming individuals and groups for bookings.

This walk begins on the shores of Ullswater at Glenridding. Starting and finishing the day at the main carpark in Glenridding, expect to summit Birkhouse Moor followed by the well-known Grade 1 scramble Striding Edge to summit Helvellyn, one of Lakeland's finest peaks. Descending by Swirral Edge, another short scramble and finally summiting Catsycam before heading back down into valley.

What age is this event available for?

Suitable for ages 16 and above. While no prior experience is necessary, we ask that you advise on your general fitness level at the time of booking. This allows us to tailor your guided walk both to suit your fitness levels and the weather conditions, ensuring you have an enjoyable day out.

What will i need to bring?

Light backpack, drinking water, lunch and snacks, outdoor footwear (walking shoes or boots), outdoor clothing to suit the weather forecast, spare layers and waterproofs, sun cream, map and compass if you want to learn along the way. If the forecast is wet, a change of dry socks for the way home!

What happens if its bad weather?

The event itinerary will be tailored to suit the mountain weather conditions on the day and a suggested itinerary will be communicated in advance of the event. Rob Green Mountain Guide uses the Met Office weather warnings system to determine the level of risk to customer safety.

In the event of localised heavy rain or winds:

Steps will be taken to assess the risk of the proposed itinerary and an alternative route will be offered to customers. If a weather warning is issued within 48 hours of the event start time, customers will be contacted on an individual basis with an offer of a full refund or rescheduled booking.

In the event of a Met Office weather warning:

In the event of public safety, Rob Green Mountain Guide reserves the right to cancel any event where we deem the weather is too severe to go ahead. Customers will be contacted on an individual basis in the event of cancellation and offered either a full refund or rescheduled booking.

What if I want to cancel my booking?

Cancellation requests made more than 48 hours in advance of the event start time are eligible for a full refund. Cancellation requests made within 48 hours of the event start time are not eligible for a refund. Where the event is cancelled by the event organiser a full refund will be given.

How do I request a refund?

You can request a refund direct from your Eventbrite account. Alternatively, email: robgreenwalks@gmail.com with the subject 'Refund Request', including your name, number of tickets purchased and the date of the event you booked on to. We will process your request directly as set out in our terms.

What happens if I don't show up at the meeting point?

We allow a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals before starting the event. Please contact the event organiser by telephone with as much notice as possible if you have any issues. We reserve the right to charge in full for no-shows and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Who is our Host for the event?

Living and working in the Lake District, your host Rob is a qualified Mountain Leader, permitted to take groups out in summer mountain conditions. Each event is covered by public liability insurance and Rob is a certified First Aider.
