About this event

Join The Wildlands Conservancy for a Guided Hike at Rana Creek!

Get ready to explore the beautiful Rana Creek with our knowledgeable guides. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about our newest nature preserve while the preserve is closed as we work toward free public access. We look forward to strapping on our hiking boots alongside you for an adventure outdoors exploring this special landscape. You'll enjoy a light meal at the Conference Center after your hike or volunteer experience.

From the lush sycamore-willow riparian streams running east of the town of Carmel Valley Village, through the iconic oak-savanna woodlands, to the summits of the Sierra de Salinas overlooking Salinas Valley, a walk through the Rana Creek is like going back in time. Situated between Salinas Valley and the Santa Lucia Range, Rana Creek Ranch is one of the largest private landholdings in California’s Carmel Valley, with 14,142 contiguous acres ranging from 900 to 3,400 feet in elevation and is critically important for wildlife and people.

Grab your hiking boots and come join us for a memorable outdoor adventure at Rana Creek!

Founded in 1995, The Wildlands Conservancy is dedicated to preserving the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to providing programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature. To this end, we protect land and waters across the West including rivers, mountains, deserts and coastlines — more than 200,000 acres to date. We open these 25 preserves to the public, free of charge, for passive recreation including camping, hiking, picnicking, birding, children’s outdoor education, and more — fostering a love and respect for life in all of its magnificent forms.

The Wildlands Conservancy, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, is dedicated to preserving the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to providing programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature. All of our operations are made possible through private funding, including generous support from visitors like you.
