About this event

  • 3 hours

Experience the practice of forest bathing, inspired by the art of Shinrin Yoku, in the healing presence of the San Isabel National Forest in Salida, Colorado. Forest bathing as a practice, leads to improved physical health and emotional well-being while deepening our relationship to ourselves and the natural world through intentional time in nature. This event will be facilitated by a forest therapy guide trained by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. During the forest bathing walk, participants will be guided through a series of sensory invitations while moving with the pace of nature. There will be opportunities for optional sharing circles during the walk. We will conclude the walk with a tea ceremony. The forest bathing walk will cover only a short distance, about 1 mile out and back, with plenty of time to rest along the way. The trail will be mostly flat with some areas of gradual elevation change. Participants will be outdoors for the duration of the walk. Forest bathing walks occur rain, snow, or shine. Additional details about this walk will be provided after registration. Ages 18+ only. Walk is limited to 8 people. **This walk is offered via a special use permit from the US Forest Service.
