Question 1

What should I do about things in the closet that belong to other people?

Accepted Answer

A cardinal rule of organizing is that we don't mess with other people's belongings without permission. Ask for permission. If they say No, then tell them you'll move their stuff to one side. If yes, then after the session, show them what you learned -- a great way for you to review your new skills!

Question 2

What supplies do I need for this to be an effective and satisfying experience?

Accepted Answer

It's helpful to have:
~a step stool to reach high places in the closet
~bins or boxes for trash, recycling, give away, return, move to other rooms, repair

Question 3

What device should I use so the host can see my closet?

Accepted Answer

A laptop works well, because you can direct the camera while it's sitting on a surface.  For a tablet or phone, it's helpful to have a stand. An open egg carton, picture stand or a metal book end serves the purpose.

My closet is large. Can I get it organized in 45 minutes?

Accepted Answer

In the demo, I will walk you through the basic steps outlined in a pdf you'll receive. If the closet is very large, or has a lots of stuff in it, you may need more time to complete the project. I'm also available for individual and group support: https://SpaceForYouScheduling.as.me/

Anything else I can do to prepare?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Clear a counter or table space close to the closet -- or place a sheet or towel on the floor just outside the closet.  If possible, arrange for other home occupants to be away from the area from 1/2 hour before to 1 hour after.
