Guided Bird Walks (Multiple Dates)

Guided Bird Walks (Multiple Dates)

Overview

Join experienced naturalist Gabriel Willow on a walk through The Battery to observe the diversity of migrating birds that visit the park.

Join us for a morning birdwatching walk! Explore the diversity of migrating birds that find food and habitat in The Battery. Tickets are free and required for participation.

The walk will be led by Gabriel Willow, an experienced birder and naturalist who is well-versed in the ecology and history of New York City. He has been leading walks throughout NYC for more than twenty years, guiding new and experienced birders in all five boroughs and beyond. Learn more about Gabriel's work at www.gabrielwillow.com.

Sign up: Select a walk date through the calendar above, and then click the "Tickets" button to complete your registration.

Where: Meet in front of SeaGlass Carousel. Please note that the northern side of the park is currently under construction, so you will need to enter the park along State Street.

Remember to bring: Binoculars if you have them! Also layers and sun protection for any forecasted weather conditions, and comfortable shoes for walking. The walk will include sections walking on grass and wood chips.

COVID-19 Policy for Events:

  1. We encourage any event participants that are not vaccinated against COVID-19 to please wear a mask while participating in our public programs.
  2. We ask that participants stay home if feeling sick or if they've had a known COVID-19 exposure in the last 5 days.

After the walk, we hope you will linger to enjoy the nation's largest perennial garden open 365 days free to the public.
