About Harvest Cycle: Harvest Cycle is Groundwork RI’s community composting program. They use bicycles to collect food scraps from residents and small businesses and transform them into high quality compost that they then redistribute back to their members and other urban growers in the community. They emphasize education, empowerment, and economic opportunity through integrating Groundwork RI’s youth and adult job training programs into our composting operations.

About ReMix Organics: Founded in 2013, the ReMix Organics Company is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from landfills and to optimize the efficiency and sustainability of organic waste transport. By partnering with regional farms and anaerobic digesters, we put organic waste to work creating high-quality soil amendments and renewable energy.

About Zero Waste Providence: Zero Waste Providence is a small but mighty 501(c)3 with open membership, focused on helping Providence minimize its waste footprint through various initiatives, education, and policy advocacy. ZWP focuses on creating opportunities for members of the Providence community to participate in more sustainable lifestyles and economies, through sustainability and zero waste initiatives at the neighborhood, city & state level; collaboration with other local and neighboring groups to implement educational events with sustainability and/or zero waste goals; and working to improve social & environmental justice.

About Providence GardenWorks: Providence Gardenworks is an urban home composting and gardening business that provides installation, training and technical support to families, composters and gardeners. They are advocates and educators, committed to helping build healthy families and communities by harnessing the composting and garden life cycles at home.

About Open Doors: The OpenDoors reentry program uses a holistic approach to support people as they prepare to leave prison, return home, and stabilize in the community. Open Doors has on-site resident-powered compost processing and a large vegetable garden with free farmers markets on Friday mornings for residents and neighbors. The site is operated by resident graduates from Garden Time’s Green ReEntry.
