Welcome to Growers & Griots!

The Growing & Growth Collective is excited to collaborate with the Moroon Arts Group on the delivery of a four-part screening and conversation series the centers Netflix's High on the Hog: Season 2.

Learn & Discuss

We'll focus on the roots of Black foodways and the path toward food sovereignty. Following each 45- to 55-minute screening, the audience will participate in a guided reflection led by Dr. Jared Grant, assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at The Ohio State University.

Join for all four dates or just attend the ones that work for you:

  • Saturday, June 29 (1-3 pm): Episode 1 - COMPLETED
  • Sunday, July 28 (1-3 pm) : Episode 2 - COMPLETED
  • Sunday, August 25 (1-3 pm): Episode 3 - COMPLETED
  • Sunday, September 29 (1-3 pm) : Episode 4 (Use this page to purchase September tickets)

Immerse & Explore

Growers & Griots is an excellent primer for GGC's first collaborative domestic excursion. During Deeply Rooted: Charleston (November 7-11, 2024), points of discussion from the screenings and audience conversations will effectively be brought to life in a location of tremndous relevance to the Black American Expereince -- Charleston, SC.
