CURRENT:LA FOODpresents new, temporary public art projects by 15 national and international artists and teams of artists who have taken on the global issue of food to highlight and encourage the discussion of topics such as: eliminating food deserts, supporting urban agriculture, improving food distribution systems, and strengthening food equity.Commissioning art installations, performances, and events in public parks,CURRENT:LA FOODaims to engage visitors in discussions about topics and issues that affect Los Angeles residents as well as the broader global community through the context of art and artmaking.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Members of the CURRENT artist collective Nonfood talk about the construction of Algae Bioreactor 1 and how one can be made on a smaller scale, followed by a harvesting of the grown algae. Capacity is limited to 13; RSVP preferred, space given on a first-come, first-served basis.

PARKING
Parking is very limited at this site on the weekends. Please consider taking public transit, carpooling, or ridesharing when possible. Parking within the park is accessed off Roscoe Blvd. Street parking is discouraged. 
RSVP
RSVP is preferred. Please present a digital or printed ticket upon arrival.

FYI
All artworks are outside! Please dress appropriately, bring shade or sunscreen, a bottle of water, and comfortable shoes.
