Did you know folks all over California and across the U.S. are already growing their own green at home? Whether you call it herb or haze, enjoy a little relaxation or wellness benefits, it's easy to grow in your backyard. Join expert Emily Gogol to learn how easy it is to cultivate this versatile plant.

This workshop will cover the how and why of your starting material (clones, seeds, plants) and provide step-by-step instructions for growing outdoors on a patio or in the backyard (think tomatoes, but easier). Emily will answer your questions with sound advice based on years of gardening experience and will bring a variety of 'show and tell' items to demonstrate how to successfully grow at home.

A Little Bit About Grow it From Home and Emily, Our Head Gardener

Emily Gogol, Ph.D., is nationally known for her work in the green industry, leading the team at Infinite Tree, which develops and produces new varieties. Emily is passionate about developing the next generation of plants to make both commercial farmers and gardeners successful.

In 2020, Emily launched Grow It From Home, which provides herbal 🌿plants. Discover the Joy of Home Growing: Tips and Tricks for Your Backyard Garden plants to backyard gardeners across the U.S. and promotes education, access, and equity. Previously, Emily worked in San Francisco achieving her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from UCSF while engaging in community work. Emily is a recognized leader by the State of California, having created three community organizations and two public parks from the ground up. She lives in the Applegate Valley, OR, where she is always trying to carve out time away from work to garden on her 23-acre organic certified farm.
