Discover the power of gardening as an engaging, hands-on learning tool! In this workshop, we’ll explore how to seamlessly connect garden activities to your Expanded Learning Program curriculum, bringing outdoor learning to life for your students. You'll participate in a variety of fun, easy-to-implement activities that can be used at your ExL sites. Learn how to start seeds affordably, create garbage pail gardens, and use digital microscopes to explore the tiny world of insects, worms, flowers, and soil. Walk away with fresh ideas and practical tools to inspire curiosity and learning outdoors!


Learning Objectives

  • Participants will develop foundational knowledge of how to teach outdoors.
  • Participants will learn how to run a garden education program economically.
  • Participants will be able to identify and utilize a variety of activities and resources to enhance and support garden-based education.
