Greyhound Splash & Dash
Come challenge yourself at the Greyhound Splash & Dash! Swim in the RLFC pool and then run on the beautiful UIndy campus. Solo or as a team.
Come out and test your spring fitness by signing up for the Greyhound Splash & Dash on April 12th at 11AM. The event will be held on the campus of the UIndy and will consist of either 400 yd swim in the RLFC pool and a 5K run OR 200 yd swim and 2.8K run. You can participate as an individual or as a two person team.
The event is hosted by the University of Indianapolis Women's Triathlon Team and it is a fundraiser for the team as they start their campaign to build a brand new locker room in the UIndy Triathlon Training Center.
Online registration is open until 1:00 AM on Saturday, April 11th. We will be accepting registrations on race day, but there will be a $10 late registration fee added at check out. Packet Pick Up will be located in the lower level of Ruth Lilly Fitness Center. Come in the main entrance and take the big open stairs to the lover level. If signing up to participate as a two person team, only one person will need to register, but both participants will need to sign waivers on race morning.
You will be given a race bib number that must be worn on the front as you finish the run. Your number will be written in Sharpy on your right and left arms and your age on your right calf. You will receive a finish split time for your swim. Your transition time will be rolled into your run time.
The swim will be a time trial start with a snake format. Participants will be organized for their start position based off of their declared 200 yard swim time. The first person in their heat will jump in feet first and then each following person will jump in every 5 seconds. Each swimmer will swim a 25 yard length in lane 8, duck under the lane line and swim back 25 yards in lane 7, duck under the next lane line and swim out in lane 6, duck under and back in lane 5. Every swimmer will continue this pattern until they swim back in lane 1for eight total lengths which is 200 yards. Then, participants will climb out of the pool and either return to lane 8 to swim the snake all over again to make the total swim 400 yards for the Long Course or head out to transition for the Short Course.
There are a number of different categories with the top 2 for male and female in each being recognized. Youth 6-9, Youth 10-14, Junior 15-17, UIndy Student, 18-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+, All Age Non-Binary, Women's NCAA Varsity
Spectators can watch from the stands in the pool by taking the stairway up to the bleachers and then back out the main door to watch the run loops and finish. The finish line will be located outside the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center main doors.
