About this event

  • 1 hour

Join us on Thursday, June 13 at the Center for Developmental Services (29 Academy Street in Greenville) for our June Lunch & Learn featuring the Center for Developmental Services.

***LOCATION CHANGE: Please note that we are changing the usual location of our Lunch & Learns from the Kroc Center to CDS for the month of June.

We also only have 35 spots for this month's Lunch & Learn.

The Center for Developmental Services (CDS) is a special place where families can find multiple community services in one location for children and individuals with delays and disabilities.

If you’re a parent of a child with special needs, then you’re always going from here to there to find all the services you need. The Center for Developmental Services is a network of care providers for children and adults with disabilities. CDS is an umbrella organization that gathers independent care providers under a single roof and helps direct their clients to the services they need.

Headquartered in downtown Greenville, CDS brings the expertise and value of six partner services to one location. Families have access to multiple providers, while also being engaged in their family-friendly environment. It is the perfect definition of synergy, where the combined partnership produces a greater result than the sum of each organization operating independently.

Their intake coordinators work with medical providers to collect vital records that help determine eligibility with the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN). If determined eligible for DDSN services, they provide case management to individuals which includes a needs assessment, care planning, plan implementation, referral and linkage, as well as monitoring and follow up.

Parking: For those who are able, please park at AGFA (also known as Vannoy) at 10 N. Academy St. on the corner of Academy St. and Washington Ave. CDS is just one block away down the alley between the NCCAA building and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Look for the blue awning.

The L&L will be in their large conference room on the 2nd floor. An elevator is available just to the left upon entering through the 2nd set of double doors.

Greenville CAN Lunch & Learn events are free however, registration is required. Lunch will be generously provided by Carolina Drive In.

You can attend the event either in-person or virtually. The Zoom link will be sent out 30 - 60 minutes prior to the event.
