The video above shows some of the feedback from National FASD's first Brain Base in 2018. Another was held at Seashell in 2019. This year's will be the first since COVID and development of the Me and My FASD toolkit, made with input from people with FASD and their families. We couldn't be more thrilled to see what fun we will have!

Frequently asked questions
This summer event is for children and young people with FASD and their families who live in Greater Manchester. It is an opportunity to have fun, gather resources and strategies that will help and most importantly meet others with FASD!
Please contact us at info@gmfasdnetwork.info to arrange a scholarship. No child/ family will be turned away.
There will be parallel tracks for children/young people and their parents/carers with frequent fun crossover sensory sessions. Your loved one will be with FASD-informed group leaders, learning about FASD and coping strategies in a supportive environment. Parents/carers will learn from experts.
Yes. Details will be provided closer to the time.
This event is a learning event for families and the positive interaction opportunities we create between children and their families is key. If any child becomes unhappy or dysregulated, the parent/ carer is expected to take that child to a calm space until they are able to reengage.
We ask families to bring their own snacks and lunch (no nuts please!). This is to make it more familiar for the children so they aren't having new and unusual foods as we know many with FASD have their own very particular sensory and dietary needs. Coffee, tea, water and squash will be availalble.
Please contact Katie at info@GMFASDNetwork.info and she will help answer any questions.
This is generously funded by NHS Greater Manchester ICB and co-organised by National FASD, FASD Greater Manchester and Seashell for the Greater Manchester FASD Network.
You will receive much more information from National FASD in the lead-up to the event, including materials in easy-read format to help your child prepare.
No. The event will run from 10:00 - 3:30 each day. We assume families will travel in each day from home. Should you require a local hotel, this will be at your own cost.
