Great STEM Summit

Square Root Academy is a local Sacramento-based 501(c)3 nonprofit on a mission to promote diversity driven innovation in the field of STEAM education. We are dedicated to educating under-represented youth on the fundamentals of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), while emphasizing collaborative learning, innovation and academic excellence. We achieve this by making STEAM fun and interactive and by providing early STEAM exposure through dynamic workshops, community involvement, and project-based, rich, immersive learning.

<p>The Academy’s 4th Annual Great STEM Summit (GSS), is a crash course experience into the wonderful world of STEM! Industry partners have all gathered together with one goal in mind: Give Great STEM Summit scholars the STEM experience of a lifetime! In previous years, GSS has welcomed over 300 scholars to participate in hands on Great STEM Workshops in coding, soldering, video game design, and several other STEM based activities. All this and more to prepare scholars to be the next great innovators of tomorrow, while making this years GSS our biggest one yet!</p><p>Scholars can invent, hack, and make their wildest dreams come true during our MakerZone Breakout Sessions where scholars get to get to interact firsthand with cutting edge tech such as 3D printing. Scholars and families alike will also get to hear from dynamic speakers currently in the STEM profession, reflective of the population served, during our opening and closing sessions.  Join us this March 2020 for an adventure in innovation and scientific discovery as it&#x27;s sure to be a great time for the whole family! </p>
