About this event

Learn the tools, terminology and techniques behind a good majority of modern and classic cocktails, and get tips for creating your home bar.

Taught by some of San Francisco's most well-known bartenders, from one of its most famous cocktail bars.

2-3 hrs – This class teaches the fundamentals of home bartending, the necessary tools and cocktail construction, all through the building of four fundamental cocktails that most people misunderstand. By rediscovering these drinks and the ways they can be made you will come to understand not only how you really like your cocktails to be made, but how to order them so that you always get them that way, and more importantly, how to make them (and many more) for your friends and guests while entertaining. You will leave with a new perspective and a new set of skills that you can build upon in future classes.

Taught by one of the talented ELIXIR bartenders, or one of San Francisco's other top bartenders who work with our renowned Cocktail Events and Beverage Catering business, Elixir To Go.

Check out our Elixir To Go Facebook page for photos of past classes and https://elixirtogo.com/services/ to see a video of the classroom and class.

"We learned more than just how to mix some popular cocktails, we got to learn about the history from a passionate, detailed instructor. All of us left with plans for stocking our liquor cabinets and a new appreciation for bartenders." - A. Moore on Google Reviews

We're all about education and entertainment. We believe the our collective drinking culture is a key part of our overall culture, and as such, understanding it aids in enjoying it to the max. We call it "Cocktail Edutainment". Though we go to great lengths to educate our team in the details (on a professional level), we understand that our primarily role is as providers of hospitality, not just drinks. So the education we provide to our guests in the bar is the same as in these classes: it's all about fun! So pick a class, share it with friends, have a great time, and come back for more. We're always scheduling more free and paid events, so click the FOLLOW button on our profile here, follow our social media (@elixirsf on Instagram and /elixirsaloon on Facebook) and sign up for our email newsletter at http:/www.elixirsf.com/whiskey-geeks . And if you'd like to book a private event, please email nick@elixirtogo.com.

ELIXIR is first and foremost a neighborhood bar that has served its neighbors for 165 years. That history also makes the bar a San Francisco historic site and true piece of Old West culture. Under the proprietorship of noted barman H. Joseph Ehrmann and his team of award-winning hospitality professionals, the bar has won a place on numerous "Best Bars" lists for everything from its insane whiskey collection and pioneering cocktails to leadership in green business and its popularity as a business networking hang-out.
