Get ready for a blues-infused evening as the Alhambra Performing Arts Center presents the Graywolf Blues Band on July 27th, 2024. Formed in 2008 at the suggestion of Micki Free, former guitarist for Prince, the band boasts an impressive history, having been nominated for five Native American Music Awards in 2008 and winning in 2009 for their original hit “Dancing in the Rain.” Founded by Graywolf, Alfred “Panther” Mazza, and Andreas Gabor, the high-energy revue combines original songs with recognizable blues standards, promising a night of soulful rhythms.
Graywolf, hailing from Tucson, Arizona, leads the band with his Yoem (Yaqui) roots, showcasing his exceptional lead guitar skills and extensive experience performing with renowned acts. Joining him is the talented Ellen “Ellie” Totleben on lead vocals, a blues aficionado with a classical training background, and Dan Binkley on blues harmonica and vocals, a seasoned musician with a deep connection to the blues.
Laura Smith brings her family's singing legacy to the stage, harmonizing with Miss Ellie and the band, while Andreas Gabor, with a background in European tours and studio work, provides the rhythmic heartbeat on drums. Bobby “Ace” Campbell, on rhythm and bass guitar, and Joe Cannizzaro, on bass guitar, contribute their versatile musical talents to round out this exceptional lineup.
