About this event

  • 3 hours 30 minutes

The Mission was founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Meringola. After witnessing local poverty conditions firsthand, they invested everything that they had with the view that if they could help even one person it was worth the investment. They worked very hard and sacrificed much to build a strong community and leave a great legacy to be carried on. Their prayer was the HHRM will remain a "lighthouse" in our community. We are a church organization and subordinate to The Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches & Ministers International.

58 years later our work continues under the direction of the founders’ daughter, Rev. Kimberly Gaines-Gambino who functions as the President/Pastor of Helping Hand Rescue Mission.

On Friday, July 19th, Grassi volunteers will participate at HHRM to:

  • Sort through donated food
  • Assist in event set up for upcoming family fun days

Volunteer Maximum: 12 participants

Additional Information:

  • Mask & COVID-19 Vaccination: Not Required
  • Dress appropriately to volunteer in an Outdoor Setting (sneakers & warm clothing)
  • This volunteer opportunity is available to Jericho office and Ronkonkoma office employees only.

Grassi is committed to supporting and encouraging employee contributions to charitable organizations.

In connection with the firm’s “Grassi Gives Back” initiative, employees are encouraged to participate as volunteers in organizations that contribute to the social fabric of the communities in which we operate.

In addition, Grassi offers additional company-sponsored volunteer events throughout the year and also encourages employees to volunteer at schools or nonprofits in their own philanthropic interest areas on their own time.
