About this event

This year, Imagine Museum has partnered with Tampa Bay's Metro Convention and Comic Convention. We are thrilled to present you with the unveiling of our latest Exhibition, 'Graphic Worlds: Exploring Comic and Anime Art' from June 28th - June 30th

Step into the dynamic universe of "Graphic Worlds: Exploring Comic and Anime Art," where the art of visual storytelling is on full display. This exhibition invites visitors to delve deep into the diverse realms of comic books and anime, showcasing an extensive collection of artworks ranging from paintings and illustrations to sequential art, video art, glass art and sculpture by talented international artists.

From the iconic superheroes of Western comics to the enchanting characters and landscapes of Japanese anime, "Graphic Worlds" celebrates the unique artistic styles and narrative complexities that have captivated audiences worldwide. Explore the rich history and evolution of these beloved mediums, from their humble beginnings to their current status as global cultural phenomena.

In addition to the impressive array of comic and anime art on display, the exhibition offers a thought-provoking juxtaposition of glass art pieces from our collection. These exquisite works, inspired by graphic, illustrative, and pop art themes, offer a fascinating contrast to the two-dimensional world of comics and anime, showcasing the versatility and creativity of contemporary artists.

In 'Graphic Worlds,' we invite you to engage in a survey of visual storytelling as a lens through which to examine broader cultural, historical, and artistic phenomena of comic and anime art. Join us as we delve into the complexities of narrative expression, the dynamics of cultural exchange, and appreciate the enduring impact of comics and anime on global popular culture.
