About this event

Grant Announcement, Celebration, and Networking Event!

Metro North and North Shore - Digital Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Consortium

This grant, funded by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute, will enhance the workforce board’s digital equity initiatives through the Digital Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Consortium. The initiative aims to improve digital equity in communities across the Metro North and North Shore regions, including Revere, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Somerville, Cambridge, Lynn, Salem, and Gloucester.

The Consortium will assist clients at the MassHire Metro North Career Centers, MassHire North Shore Career Centers, as well as in the mentioned communities. It involves recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting a cohort of 32 digital navigators, providing them with employment opportunities and career counseling. Additionally, the Consortium will offer digital literacy classes, distribute laptops, hotspots, peripherals, and ensure internet access, along with providing IT support to recipients. The collaborative effort extends to working with community-based organizations and priority communities.

Let's work together to create a digitally inclusive future!
