Frequently asked questions

How much programming experience do I need?

Not at all! However, if you have taken an introductory course, that can be beneficial.

I have only programmed non-visual stuff

Not a problem! You'll learn in no time how to make intriguing graphics.

Will Graffathon be streamed?

Maybe! However, our priority will be the IRL event.

Can I sleep at the venue?

Nope, but there are many hotels in Otaniemi and Tapiola, like Noli and Radisson. Checkout Airbnb as well. If you ask around in our Telegram (link in ticket), there might also be another participant who has an empty sofa.

Can I bring a desktop computer?

If you are feeling hardcore, absolutely! We should have a small number of Ethernet connections available – but it's safest to double check from us if your computer doesn't have a Wi-Fi.

Can I bring a beer or two?

Not this year! Graffathon is organized in Aalto University's premises, so we have a strict no-alcohol policy. Non-alcoholic beverages are welcome.

Are kids welcome?

With a parent, absolutely! For teens who'd like to participate alone – please contact us to double check. Our main concerns are event photography and that everyone can get home safely in the evening.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes – and we've actually checked the venue in advance with this in mind. If you'd like to know any details, please contact us.
