Welcome to Grace’s Universe Drag Queen Story Hour at The Sanctuary! For Mother's Day Weekend, The Sanctuary, the only 100% sustainable Black queer woman owned apothecary, apparel, home decor boutique in the Bay Area, is hosting Tunita James, a Barnes & Noble Press Bestselling LGBTQIA Children's book author and Black queer mother.
The Grace’s Universe book series focuses on its titular character, Grace, her two-mom-led family and friends with diverse family structures whose stories are too often not told in children’s books.
Join us for a fabulous event filled with captivating children's stories "Ma, Where's Mommy?" and "Grace's Playdate," read by the fabulous MARGO! Margo! is a drag queen who has been making audiences think and laugh out loud in the Bay Area for over 6 years with a commitment to radical self-love that compliments the themes lovingly described in Tunita James' new books.
The event will take place at The Sanctuary located at 3344 Grand Ave, Oakland, CA. We will have popcorn and snow cones for the family to enjoy while being propelled into a new universe filled with love, acceptance, self actualization, and more. Get ready to be entertained and inspired. It is always a great time at The Sanctuary! During the event, you will be able to purchase each book, meet, chat, take pictures with, and have books signed by the Author, Tunita James. MARGO! will also be available to sign autographs and take pictures.
Though the description says there are only 25 tickets, this event is from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm with readings at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. NO ONE WILL BE TURNED AWAY!!! Don't miss out on this unique experience!
