<h2>Oxbow Live: Good Looks with Dead Gowns and Snake Lips</h2><p><br></p><h3>| Good Looks |</h3><p>Good Looks write kindhearted and cathartic rock songs about the persistence required to make it through hard times. In April 2022, the Austin, Texas quartet released their critically acclaimed debut Bummer Year, which channeled post-2016 frustrations into lyrically generous and biting tracks. Immediately after their triumphant hometown record release show, tragedy struck. Walking outside the venue, lead guitarist Jake Ames was hit by a car crossing the street, fracturing his skull and tailbone. Following a necessary period of healing and processing which found him in the ICU and dealing with short-term memory issues, Ames recovered. The traumatic accident strengthened their bond, which is evident on their electric new album Lived Here For A While. Out June 7 via Keeled Scales, it’s fearlessly direct music that captures the full-throated intensity of their galvanizing live show.</p><p><br></p><h3>| Dead Gowns |</h3><p>Dead Gowns is the project of Portland-Maine singer-songwriter Geneviève Beaudoin. In her latest collection, the HOW EP, she pushes “expressive arrangements and raw melodies into a glowing spectacle” (Foxy Digitalis). Both urgent and sincere, it’s “the sound of a songwriter coming good on all her promises and then some” (For the Rabbits). Vinyl Me, Please named Dead Gowns a VMP Rising Artist in 2023 and with it, released an expanded version of HOW which is now available on vinyl and all streaming platforms.</p><p><br></p><h3>| Snake Lips |</h3><p>Snake Lips is an indie rock band out of Portland, Maine. Created by vocalist and guitarist Cody Mitchell, Snake Lips features a rotating line up backing musicians, including Pete Caradonna on drums, Tom Cook on bass, and Sam Ellis on guitar. Evergreen (2020), the band’s first album, is a DIY-release influenced by Mitchell’s love of DIIV and Alvvays. Melt the Sun (2021), a collaborative EP release by Maine label Repeating Cloud and the New York-based Totally Real Records, features skittery, up-tempo punk songs, while Mitchell approaches his subject matter with his trademark self-deprecating humor. Snake Lips released full-length Happy Anxious in 2022, showcasing a darker side of Mitchell’s songwriting, but maintaining the core punk-inspired song structures and tongue-in-cheek lyrics.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><strong>[$15 Tickets | Doors 730PM | Show 8PM]</strong></strong></p>
