CAVEAT is a downtown venue that puts on kick-ass, smart events. We’re redefining the boundary between intellect and entertainment. Good Brain is a science/comedy show where comedians ask a Brain Scientist questions about pain, neuroscience, and society. This event highlights new research on social inequity and pain.
The show begins with stand up sets from NYC comedians Cameron Bradford and Benny Feldman. Then a panel of comedians grill Brain Scientist, Marianne Reddan, as she gives an educational talk on how complex social structures alter people's expectations for injury and pain. Our panel includes legendary podcaster, Brace Belden, and NYC's finest comedians Eric Rahill, Jack Bensinger, and Mera Caulfield.
Dr. Reddan is a cognitive neuroscientist who studies how the human brain constructs pain, and how this is influenced by societal structures like social rank, the economy, and health care systems.
Brace Belden is the co-host of the podcast TrueAnon. He’s also a labor union activist, YPG veteran, and a popular Twitter user.
Benny Feldman is an NYC based comedian, known for his one-liners and for performing with Tourette’s syndrome. He recently performed on Comedy Central’s Stand-up Featuring series for 2023, and was named a New Face for the 2022 Just For Laughs Festival.
Cameron Bradford is an NYC based comedy writer and stand up. He is actually a pretty prominent guy, especially in his own life.
Eric Rahill is an NYC based comedian, actor (I Think You Should Leave and The Bear), and co-host of the podcast Joytactics.
Jack Bensinger is an NYC based comedian and co-host of the podcast Joytactics.
Mera Caulfield is an NYC based comedian with a Phd in positive vibes and hanging out and angel vibes.
