Award-winning author and Pulitzer Prize finalist Alice McDermott makes a special visit to Long Island to discuss her critically acclaimed new novel, Absolution.
The wives of the Vietnam War take center stage in this poignant novel about two women whose marital duties to their soldier husbands in Saigon resonate sixty years later as they discover how their lives as women on the periphery—of politics, of history, of war, of their husbands' convictions—have been shaped and burdened by the same consequences that followed America's interference in Southeast Asia.
TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS SESSION
**Please note! The purchase of a "General Admission: 1 Person + 1 Book" will admit ONE adult and include a copy of the book. After the talk, McDermott will be available to meet fans and sign additional copies of her books purchased from Theodore's that night.
Additional copies of Absolution will be available for purchase at the event.
