New Covenant Church of Philadelphia founded by the BIshop C. Milton Grannum and Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Bobb Grannum in Novemrb 1982, expresses its vision as "Pleasing God by touching Philadelphia and beyond." The mission is to connect people prayerfully and compassionately to Jesus Christ and one another, guiding them to fulfill God's purpose. Core values include worship, compassion, service, fellowship, faithfulness, obedience, study, trust, stewardship, teaching, evangelism, discipleship, and prayer. The church's statement of faith emphasizes the Holy Scriptures, the Godhead, the Lord Jesus Christ, universal sinfulness, indwelling of the Holy Spirit, redemption through Jesus' blood, justification by grace through faith, and the resurrection of the saved and the lost.
The church's history, starting in 1982, outlines significant milestones such as the acquisition of its own facility on Ardleigh Street in 1984, subsequent growth, and the consecration of Bishop C. Milton Grannum in 1991. In 1993, the church acquired the historic campus at 7500 Germantown Avenue, leading to the construction of a new sanctuary. Various events, from groundbreaking ceremonies to the dedication of Smith Hall, mark the church's growth and impact. In 2004, New Covenant Church initiated Covenant Manor, a senior housing facility. The church's ongoing community ministries and efforts to address systemic injustices are highlighted under the leadership of Pastor Bob Oliver, who assumed the role of Executive Pastor in 2018.
