GODDESS FEST 2016

The Sorority House & Co. is a collective force of women in the creative industries, which aims to connect, celebrate and inform women and construct a shared sisterhood mentality.We run weekly Sorority Circles for female creatives in order to generate power banks of success, build upon ideas and share experiences. We also run monthly Female Boss Friday events which aim to act as networking hubs for women in the creative industries.Founded by Kaiya Milan in 2015 (previously called Women in Music UK), The Sorority House has continued to raise the bar through its series of inspirational events. 2015 saw the collective put on their first annual talk with a panel of 12 incredible women from the industry. Featuring the likes of Caroline SM (GRM Daily), Remel London (Link Up TV), DJ Melody Kane (SBTV), plus more – their first event brought in a diverse audience of industry professionals and aspiring young creative.The Sorority House kicked off with an event held at the Apple Store Covent Garden. The collective’s founder Kaiya Milan hosted a discussion on Marketing Yourself in the Digital Age featuring;Parris OH - Urban Promotions Manager, Sony Music UKCaroline SM - A&R, XL RecordingsJackie Eyewe – Marketing Manager, Atlantic RecordsThe event sold out in less than 10 hours via the Apple Store, and was completely full to capacity on the night. This is the first of many events The Sorority House will be holding at the Apple Store, Covent Garden and they expect to become resident for their iconic discussions and controversial debates.

The Sorority House announce their inaugural music festival with an all-female line-up which takes place on Tuesday 9 August 2016 in the heart of East London, Shoreditch. 
Goddess Festival aims to bring a celebration of females in the creative industry to one of the most diverse streets in the city. Headed by an all-female operations team, it’s been curated by the ladies for everyone. 
The all day party will start in the pop-up mall Box Park then heads to Cargo in the evening with performances by Mahalia, Emmavie, Rainy Milo and more.
Box Park will set the pace of the summer time all-dayer. From 12pm to 6pm, the open air stage will host a FREE for all showcase of London’s rising effeminate talent.
Performances on the stage include, JaJa Kisses; inspired by the queen of digital feelings Björk, JaJa has crafted her sound, exploring new textures within the realms of indie, experimental, rnb, and trap.
Philanthropist Florieme uses her sultry chords to touch on causes dear to heart. A brew of contemporary R&B and soul, she has raised money for causes such as alopecia and highlighted issues of domestic violence through a combination of her music and visuals with an alternative pop twist.
Young singer-songwriter Sherika Sherard exploded on social media when her SBTV A64 performance of her self-written London anthem "Give Me A Job" went viral and notched up over 25,000 shares on Facebook in just 24 hours. Support also comes from Jay Bay the singer-songwriter in the pipelines as one to watch in late 2016.

Poet, author and spoken word artist Hollie McNish, who has had over 2 million YouTube hits on her poem ‘Mathematics’ and over one million views on the hard hitting and honest poem ‘Embarrassed’, will be with us to share her new powerful memoirs of poetry and parenthood entitled ‘Nobody Told Me’. 
Mahalia, who’s been building a live reputation since supporting the likes of Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, Kwabs and Lianne La Havas will be gracing the stage. Signed to Asylum Records, she has also lent her penmanship and vocals to Rudimental for ‘We The Generation’.
Putting in the work since she was 14, Rainy Milo started with the collective Last Night In Paris. Now one of A&R’s most sought after, she has remained unsigned to develop her own sound. Rainy’s lyrics conjure imagery sonically fused with reggae, R&B, and more futuristic production qualities.
Emmavie writes, sings, raps, produces, and engineers her own music whilst building her own union of ladies who are able to do it all. Emmavie exudes what it means to come up on the Soundcloud era having worked alongside SOULECTION, IAMNOBODI and a play listed favourite on BBC 1Xtra.
Blending R&B and neo-soul, Nipah has been recruited to inject her new wave alternative energy for the evening whilst Cilla Raie, and Roxxxan back to back will bring an eclectic mix of soul and rap to close the line-up.
The line-up embraces all genres and highlights the talent of females in various realms of creativity.
