About this event

Whatever the season, the goats of historic Simmons Farm welcome you to lead them on a hike through our bucolic pastures.

Join us for a mile-long, ninety minute, guided hike through a centuries old, yet still working farm.

There will be stops during the hike to allow for rest, browsing and grazing, in addition to learning about the history of the farm and the animals that live here.

Along the way, enjoy the countless scenic views, including two brooks, centuries old stone walls, as well as Narragansett Bay from the highest privately-owned point on Aquidneck Island.

Please wear closed-toe shoes, as the hike crosses uneven terrain, muddy farm lanes, and open fields. Dress appropriately for the weather. If joining us in winter, we recommend boots, gloves, a warm coat, and a hat. If joining us in summer, remember sunscreen, bug repellent, and a bottle of water.

Goats are social, lively, inquisitive, and independent animals. Commonly considered livestock, goats are surprisingly just as complex as your pets. While you have the option to choose a goat as your hiking companion, ultimately, the goat chooses you.

General Admission tickets are for one person and one goat to lead. A Family Package includes two adults, two children, and one goat to lead. A Hike Only ticket allows you to join the guided tour without a goat to lead.

Families with young children, five or under, are recommended only one goat to hike with.

Children under 9 years of age are free and do not need a ticket when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket holder. One general admission ticket allows two children under nine. Hikers over 9 years of age must purchase a General Admission (which includes a goat) or Hike Only ticket.

There are no refunds on tickets. If you can’t make it or the weather is bad, you will receive a credit to use for a future date.

Please arrive fifteen minutes before your ticketed time, as this is a GUIDED HIKE. *You will not be able to lead your goat if you are late, as they are herd animals.*

Starting 9/16/23 all adults must sign a waiver to participate.
