Join us for a Gnocchi Making Class!

Roll up your sleeves and learn how to make delicious gnocchi from scratch. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to create 2 different kinds of gnocchi dough and how to roll your own little pillows of yum - handmade gnocchi.

You will make ricotta gnocchi dough by hand and then learn how to hand roll the gnocchi and also learn how to make a cheese stuffed potato gnocchi.

Sauce : Butter & Sage

Alla Sorrentina sauce is a tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella and basil popular in Naples and the amalfi coast.

Stuffed Gnocchi are typical of Northern Italy.

We eat what we make ! Every class ends with a pasta tasting.
Note: This is typically enough pasta for a light to medium sized meal.

Allergens used in Class: Milk, wheat - We cannot make substitutions for this class.

All Participants receive a recipe book via email after class.

Classes are held at IL LABORATORIO - our new pasta making kitchen located at 3101 Guess Rd. (NOT the pasta shop). All participants receive a Class Recipe Book via email with the recipes from the class.

Classes are non-refundable; however, we can move your registration to a different date if you are unable to make it to the class (must give us 7 days notice). Can you make substitutions for food allergies?

We will use milk and wheat in this class - unfortunately we cannot make changes to the menu for this class.

Are children allowed to attend?

Yes, children 9 and up and welcome to attend - they must have their own ticket.

I have a Melina's gift card - How do I register for this class?

Where do I park?

There is a large parking lot in the complex - you may park in any spot unless there is a sign indicating a reserved space. DO NOT PARK in reserved spaces. Please park perpendicular to the back building where Il Laboratorio is located.

What is the cancellation policy?

Can I bring wine to the class?

You may BYOB and drink during the pasta tasting at the end of the class. No drinking is allowed during the pasta making portion of the class.

Where are the classes held?

Classes are NOT held at the pasta shop. We have a new pasta making class kitchen - Il Laboratorio - located at 3101 Guess Rd, Durham, NC 27705

How much do we get to eat?

Typically, we have leftovers and there is plenty of pasta to eat. We usually eat around 90 minutes into the class so plan accordingly.

Il Laboratorio - The Cooking Lab by Melina's Fresh Pasta - opened in 2024. Due to high demand for Melina's Fresh Pasta owner, Carmella's, pasta making classes Il Laboratorio was created to offer a dedicated space centered on Pasta Making Classes and regional Italian cooking. While making pasta will still be Carmella's primary focus at Melina's - this new space will allow for more frequent classes to be scheduled. Classes will focus on pasta and sauces from all 20 regions of Italy plus some Italian-American classics. Come learn how to make pasta like a little Italian nonna.
