What products will you take at this collection?

Accepted Answer

Anything covered by the NYS Paint Stewardship Law: oil- or water-based paint/stain, alkyd paint, enamel paint (textured ok), metal coating, rust preventative (no aluminum flake paint), primer, sealer, deck coating (no preservatives/pesticides), shellac, lacquer, varnish, or urethane.

When and where is this collection being held?

Accepted Answer

Pavilion, NY (in southeastern Genesee County) on Saturday June 10th, 2023.  The first appointment slot starts at 9 am and the last one ends at 1 pm.  (More detailed information is available later in the registration process.)

Question 3

Who may bring products to the collection?

Accepted Answer

Members of any household or business in or around the GLOW region, including Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties.

When can I make an appointment for the collection?

Accepted Answer

Late April or early May; check this page for updates

Question 5

How many appointments will be available?

Accepted Answer

400 appointments total, 25 per each of the 16 time slots

Question 6

Are there any products you will not accept at the collection?

Accepted Answer

Yes, anything NOT covered by the Paint Stewardship Law. This includes but is not limited to auto and marine paint, spray paint, aluminum flake paint, tar-based roof/driveway sealer, anything with pesticide or wood preservative, art/craft paint, road paint, paint thinner, paint additives, and glue.

I have something that's not on the approved list; can I bring it?

Accepted Answer

No. If you have something that's not accepted, call the GLOW office (585-815-7906 or 800-836-1154) to sign up for the notification list for the annual Household Hazardous Waste collection (held later in the year). Note that the HHW is limited to only a few counties. Call the office  for more info.
