Welcome to the Global Summit on Occupational Health in Music!

The First Global Summit on Occupational Health in Music will bring together global experts, educators, musicians, and healthcare providers to advocate for tertiary music schools to own the responsibility for ensuring a safe learning environment and that occupational health is recognized as an essential area of knowledge and competency for all musicians. Presentations will be split into four core themes and will culminate in inviting participants to sign a declaration designed to catalyze change among tertiary music schools.
Hosted by Johns Hopkins University
This meeting is hosted by the Kris Chesky and the Johns Hopkins University. Chesky is a leading researcher of performing arts health who investigates issues at the intersection of music and health, advocating for health policy and safety standards for music students and performing artists, as well as increased specialized training for music educators to integrate research and clinical care for performing artists into education. As a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor, Chesky has a dual appointment at the University in the Peabody Institute and the School of Medicine.
