Global Service Learning Roundtable

Global Service Learning Roundtable

Online event
Tuesday, Jun 23 from 10 am to 11 am CEST
Overview

Join teachers and researchers from the global north & south to discuss decolonizing education and fostering mutual understanding

Global Service Learning (GSL) in Higher Education Institutes is an educational approach that examines the economic and historical interconnectedness between the Global North and South, recognizing how colonialism has shaped profound inequalities. Through the targeted promotion of mutual respect and understanding, this form of service learning aims to enable meaningful reflection and collective action between actors from the Global South and North. In the longer term, the forum should also explore ways in which GSL can address social challenges in the Global South (labor and migration dynamics, knowledge transfer, funding mechanisms). We invite teachers and researchers from both spheres to participate in our roundtable to discuss methods for fostering these critical connections in global education. The first roundtable meeting will take place on June 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM (Central European Time) or 12 AM (East African Time).
