Join us for an exciting evening of adventurous music at Sol Collective on Saturday, March 5th featuring the innovative hip-hop orchestra, Ensemble Mik Nawooj (EMN).
Led by composer/pianist JooWan Kim, the 10-piece orchestra is comprised of 2 MCs, a soprano, winds, strings, funky drums, and piano. EMN will be performing songs from their critically acclaimed first studio album, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts commissioned re-imagined hip-hop classics, and an ESPN commissioned “California Soul” deconstruction which will be aired during the network’s 2016 NFL Super Bowl programing. Their upcoming second studio album, The Future of Hip-Hop, will include the aforementioned commissioned tracks.
