About this event

Featured Presenter Dr. Kyle Stanley, The Dental Marketer

Part One: The Mentally Resilient Dentist
(CE subject code 770 Self Improvement)

A proven step-by-step training for dental professionals to master their mental resilience and workplace leadership so that they can create sustainable success in their careers and lives.

In this course you'll discover:

  • The #1 skill that all of the most successful dentists master that the average ones don't...and how you can implement this fast
  • The 3 biggest mistakes that almost all dentists make in their patient management that cause 90% of the stress (and how to avoid making this mistake)
  • How to use the Dental Trigger Map to identify where your biggest challenges are coming from and simple ways to overcome these issues
  • The simple research-backed stress management technique that can reduce your stress by 72% - even if you only have 3 minutes available a day
  • You'll leave this course feeling clear, confident, and ready to create a highly sustainable and enjoyable dental career

Part Two: Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry
(CE subject code 250 Operative Dentistry, 730 Imaging Science and Techniques)

As AI brings its paradigm-shifting force to bear in dental care, however, few dentists have been given an honest accounting of how AI will actually impact their work––and fewer still have any first-hand experience with AI in their practices. This course aims to dispel the myths and mystery around AI’s current utility to dental offices with a boots-on-the-ground look at AI’s real-world impact on the clinical and business operations of practices currently employing the technology.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the fundamental strengths and weaknesses of AI systems
  • Discover what kinds of AI tools are currently available
  • Level-set on the nature and scope of impact that these tools have on clinical care and practice management
  • Understand and learn to avoid certain risks associated with AI tools
  • Learn best practices for leveraging AI tools day-to-day to maximize patient health and practice revenue

Presenter: Meg Lucks, The Mindful Engagement Practice

In the spirit of wellness and service (to our patients, teams, loved ones and ourselves) we are excited to spend intentional time with the highly esteemed Meg Lucks (see bio below), She will lead us in connecting with ourselves in the present to help us understand full engagement. It is an intention to practice taking care of and maintaining ourselves so that we can stay connected to life and also so that we are able to help, serve and love others fully.

Through mindfulness practices we strengthen our connection to each other and to our commitment to inspire joy by coming together in mutual respect. Wherever we are, whatever we are doing, we can remember to stop, to observe, seeking to understand. From this mindful space the energy of concentration may arise and from concentration real insight is born. To be effective, to have the ability to respond, to know what to do, we need to recognize that the real working basis is oneself, right here, on the spot, in the here and in the now.

About Meg: Meg Lucks is the lead teacher and founder of The Heart Revival Center for Yoga + Buddhism in Milwaukee. Meg has been a practitioner of both Buddhism and Yoga since 2007. Having studied with a wide host of teachers across the globe, Meg humbly uses the gifts of ancient wisdom as a gateway into our own understanding of the treasures that are Yoga & Buddhism.

Presenter: Dr Rachel Barone Everyday Mindfulness - It's All a Practice

We all strive to practice dentistry at the highest level possible, and often bring that energy to all aspects of our life. Whether we have a family or regular exercise routine, the curiosity and drive that helps us excel in dentistry often manifests outside of our profession, too. But just like with our patients, our habits, and practices both in and out of the office can become adaptations--some of which are beneficial, and some of which are not--that color the rest of our existence. How can we identify and address the emotional, spiritual, and physical adaptations we've made, and how can we create a purposeful, supportive life both in and out of our practices? One tool that's become a buzzword in popular culture is mindfulness practices, but what does that mean? How can the practice of mindfulness be applied to the practice of dentistry, and to life, to bring more clarity and grounding to our interactions? Understanding what mindfulness is, as well as learning and applying the practices of mindfulness to our lives, can help us address any maladaptations we may have created and re-orient to a life and inner experience that is fulfilling and connected to those around us. By practicing mindfulness, we can enhance the other practices in our lives, including dentistry, and show up more fully and authentically in each moment.

If you’re a member of the Global Diagnosis Community you know Rachel Barone very well. One of our GDE Mentors, she is an accomplished restorative dentist in Boulder Colorado and has studied yoga and mindfulness for many years in many places around the world. Rachel not only brings an understanding of technical dentistry but also blends it with unique behavioral skills that emanate from her spirituality and heart. Among her many other associations are: American Dental Association; American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry; 2023 Programming Committee, American Equilibration Society; Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry; Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; Fellow of the American Equilibration Society
