**About the Event:**
Welcome back to the enchanting Unicoi State Park for our 14th Annual Georgia Gathering, a unique experience far removed from your average conference. Set in a serene, natural environment, this event unites individuals from across Georgia to engage in the transformative power of person-centered practices. Through sharing experiences, stories, and skills, participants will discover the profound impact these practices have on both personal and professional lives.
**What to Expect:**
- **Earn up to Six Hours of DDP Training Credit** by participating in the entire event.
- **Interactive Sessions:** Dive into plenary and breakout sessions focusing on practical person-centered thinking tools and strategies aimed at enhancing support systems and organizational effectiveness.
Special Guest Key Note Speaker: Dr. Alonzo Kelly
- **The Learning Marketplace & Gallery Walk:** A vibrant space for exchanging stories, techniques, and insights through informal discussions and visual displays.

- **Dates:** September 5th & 6th, 2024
- **Location:** Unicoi State Park, Georgia
- **Pre-registration is Mandatory:** Space is limited, so secure your spot early! No on-site registration available.

- **Hotel Scholarships:** Available on a limited basis. Even with a registration scholarship, you must book your room separately through Unicoi.

Frequently asked questions
The Event Scholarships are intended for Self-Advocates and not for staff or family supporting them.
The primary recipients for the Hotel Scholarships should be a Self-Advocate and if needed a support person may join them. This is not intended for a support person to have their own room.
You will fill out the information to reserve the scholarship via the Hotel Scholarship ticket option. You will have 3 business days to confirm a reservation with Unicoi for the individual listed on the scholarship request and send a copy of the reservation to galearningcommunity@gmail.com
If a support person or company administrators name needs to be the one on the reservation please make sure that the individual's name it is noted on the reservation you submit for securing your scholarship.
The Georgia Learning Community does not provide refunds for the Gathering conference. We will gladly be able to accommodate a substitution for paid tickets.
Yes! As long as it is another Self-Advocate we will gladly accept a substitution for scholarships.
It will only cover the night of the conference. If you are traveling one way more than 150 miles please make sure to email galearningcommunity@gmail.com to see if an additional night can be made available based on scholarship funding.
