I don't know my way around the university campus. Will there be signs?

There are signs and maps all around campus to help direct you to Lecture Theatre E - you can also ask staff for help! If you are especially unsure, or do find yourself lost, please email us at l.lynn@surrey.ac.uk and we'll send you additional information, or even send a staff member to help you.

Question 2

Is this really free and public?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The University of Surrey wants to leverage its proximity to and connections with the local games industry to make both academic and industry knowledge and talent more accessible to everyone. This panel is part of our efforts to do that!

Question 3

Is the venue accessible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and we have staff to support people with visual impairments. However, note that areas of campus are steep, and we do not have plans for a BSL interpreter. If you need support, please email us at l.lynn@surrey.ac.uk.

Question 4

How long will the panel be?

Accepted Answer

The panel will run for the majority of the event (~2 hours). We're aiming to have around an hour of prepared discussion with the panelists, and then will open the floor to public questions and discsussions for the remainder - please see the agenda. Feel free to come and go in that time!

Question 5

I'm not a programmer. Can I still attend?

Of course! In fact, we'd encourage it. This is a place of learning.

Question 6

Will there be refreshments?

Unfortunately not. However, there are free water machines and various cafes and restaurants on campus. If you would like help finding these, please let our staff know.
