Giving Yourself Grace while Grieving
Grief is not a problem to solve - it’s a human response to love, change, and loss. Join us as we learn how to navigate grief with grace.
Grief is not a problem to solve - it’s a human response to love, change, and loss. It can come in waves, shifting from moment to moment, often bringing a mix of emotions like sadness, anger, confusion, even numbness. In the midst of that unpredictability, mindfulness offers a gentle anchor. By paying attention to the present moment without judgment, we create space to notice what we’re feeling rather than becoming overwhelmed by it. This practice helps us stay connected to ourselves, even when everything else feels uncertain.
Giving yourself grace while grieving means allowing your experience to unfold without pressure or comparison. It’s choosing compassion over criticism when your energy is low, your emotions feel heavy, or your healing doesn’t look the way you expected. Grace invites you to honor your own pace, recognizing that there is no “right” way to grieve. Together, mindfulness and self-compassion can soften the intensity of loss and help you move through it with greater gentleness and care.
As part of this workshop, participants will engage in hands-on activities that support reflection, expression, and connection, such as:
- Guided journaling prompts to explore emotions and memories
- Creating a personal “grace statement” or affirmation for difficult moments
- Memory-sharing circles to honor loved ones and experiences
- Simple grounding exercises using breath, touch, or sensory awareness
- Writing a letter to yourself or to the person you’ve lost
These activities are designed to meet participants where they are, offering both structure and flexibility as they navigate their unique grief journey.
