About this event

  • 8 hours

Feedback is a crucial aspect of workplace communication, both in formal and informal settings. In this workshop, we'll delve into the art of giving and receiving feedback, with a focus on effectively structuring and delivering input. The course covers the significance of information for behavior change and performance improvement, explores communication paradigms, and defines types of feedback, including constructive and reinforcing. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to apply two feedback models to real-time scenarios.

Overview

Employer to employee feedback is the most common workplace communication technique. Formal feedback, such as performance reviews, may not occur frequently, but informal feedback flows freely. Both types are valuable and contribute to improved individual performance and behavior change; however, giving and receiving feedback can be difficult.

In this course, participants learn to structure and deliver encouraging feedback that fosters receiver response and application. To that end, this course outlines paradigms for effective communication, discusses the impact of conflict in communication, and provides key guidelines and strategies for giving and receiving feedback.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Identify the importance of information to behavior change and performance improvement
  • Define types of feedback: corrective and reinforcing
  • Review guidelines and practice strategies for the giving and receiving of feedback
  • Demonstrate the application of two models for giving feedback applied to simulated real-time case scenarios
