<h1>Meet our Speakers!</h1><h3>Keynote: Gaurav Garg, Director of Information Technology City of Santa Clara</h3>Topic: Enterprise GIS. The journey is the destination!Bio: Gaurav Garg is the Chief Information Officer with the City of Santa Clara, California. Gaurav has 30 years of experience in Information Technology, both in the private and public sector. He has been the lead IT officer in four different municipalities. Prior to the City of Santa Clara, he was Director of Criminal Justice Information Systems at the County of Santa Clara. He brings a new vision transforming City Government to deliver superb citizen-focused services via technology.

Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems. He currently serves on the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) State Board. 

Some of Gaurav's speaking engagements include: Smart Santa Clara, IT Extreme Makeover, City of the Future-Technology Enabled Transformation, Securing Levi's through Technology, Public Safety Technology: A Glimpse of the Future and the CIO as a Change Agent.
Bruce Joffe - Principal of GIS Consultants - Piedmont, CaliforniaTOPIC: "The need for GIS professionals to be involved in public policy issues."Bio: Bruce provided GIS planning and implementation management services for over 40 years. Bruce was Chair of the California GIS Council's UAS Policy Work Group, member of the GIS Council's Geodetic Control Work Group, Past Chair of URISA's Policy Advisory Committee, past Secretary of URISA's Board of Directors, and past Chair of the BAAMA (now BayGeo) chapter of URISA. Originator of the Open Data Consortium project, Bruce is dedicated to accessible public geodata while supporting database maintenance. He contributes to the resolution of geospatial public policy issues including data distribution, interdepartmental coordination and cooperation, GIS professionals' responsibilities, and organizational therapy for dysfunctional enterprises.Carlos “Isaac“ Cabrera - GIS Administrator Department of Information Technology - Contra Costa CountyTOPIC: “Implementing a regional emergency GIS strategy”Bio: My goal is to add value to any workplace I enter. I accomplish this by distilling governmental business need into meaningful IT action. Dan Henderson, GISP - ESRI Local Government – Team LeadTOPIC: “Becoming an Analytics Driven Organization“Bio: Dan Henderson is the regional manager for local government in northern California and northern Nevada for Esri. He has worked in and around the GIS profession for the majority of his 20+ year career. He holds a Bachelors in Geography from Oregon State University and a Masters in Geography from San Diego State University. He has worked for a variety of public, private and academic organizations and enjoys helping agencies transform how they do business through the science of location technology. His interests outside of work include snowboarding, hiking, surfing, travel, and working on classic cars. David Peck - EagleViewTOPIC: TBABio: I've alway gravitated to looking at things from a geo-spatial perspective. That's probably why I ended up with a degree in Geography and why I have spent much of my career helping customers use geo-spatial technology to solve problems. Geo-spatial technology touches us all and I get to talk with people daily about how this technology can help them look at things differently, gain deeper insight into the data they use and most importantly help them use technology to make their jobs and lives easier. Anthony Adams - STATOPIC: "Attractor and Generator Analysis in Bike/Ped Planning"Bio: Anthony is a project manager with the Solano Transportation Authority. He holds two masters degrees from Cal Poly in Engineering and City Planning. He works to all 7 Solano County cities to identify, seek funding for, and implement regionally-significant projects. Julie Eckman, PLS - DWRTOPIC: "Moving State Property Asset Information From Paper Source to a GIS Driven Data Cloud"Bio: Julie Eckman is a California licensed land surveyor with over 15 years of surveying experience, five years of which include applying surveying techniques with GIS technologies. Currently, Julie is a Transportation Surveyor at CA Department of Water Resources working the last two and a half years on the Central Valley Flood Protection Board GIS project presented here today. Previously, she was the surveyor for the SF BART District overseeing survey documents for the $1.9 billion Earthquake Retrofit Program in addition to other surveying duties, and at Caltrans producing survey documents for approximately $40 million of excess lands.
