Gingerbread Architecture Workshop

Event Description

Bring your family, friends, grandkids, or co-workers and get ready to design, build, and decorate your own gingerbread creation — architect-style! Guided by local architect and longtime IAF volunteer Tom Wollan, AIA, participants will learn fun principles of design and construction while assembling a festive gingerbread house.

This hands-on workshop is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a budding builder or simply love a creative holiday project, you’ll leave with new design inspiration — and a sweet masterpiece to take home.

Registration Details

• $50 per gingerbread house (registration covers up to 4 people working as a group). Solo registrations also welcome.
• Hot chocolate and cookies included!
• All workshop materials are provided.

Location

This program is co-presented by the Iowa Architectural Foundation and the Des Moines Heritage Trust, and will be held at the beautiful Des Moines Heritage Center in the East Village.
