Overview

An intensive, two-day workshop where we turn wire, paper, and "stuff" into life-size figures.

Two-Day Workshop: 2026. 05.10 from (14:00 to 19:00) and 2026.05.17( 10:00 -12:00)

Go Big or Go Home: The Giant Puppet Workshop
Ready to make a massive statement? Join me for an intensive, two-day workshop where we turn wire, paper, and "stuff" into life-size figures. Whether you want to create a whimsical character for theatre, a striking art installation, or a towering symbol for a protest, this is your chance to build something that literally stands above the crowd!

The Game Plan
Day 1: Bones & Body (The Build) May 10th
We’ll start by engineering the skeleton of our puppets using wire. Once the "bones" are set, we’ll dive straight into the papier-mâché to create a sturdy, lightweight skin. By the end of day one, your giant will have its shape and be ready to dry.
Day 2: Soul & Style (The Details) May 17th
This day is all about personality.
We’ll be assembling the final pieces and adding the magic:
Painting & Decor: Giving your puppet its face and flair.
Fabrics & Movement: Draping textiles to add scale and flow.
The "Stuff": Using recycled materials, found objects and other wonders to make your creation unique.

The Details
Wear "messy" clothes: Between the wire, glue, and paint, things will get creative (and dirty!).
Bring your ideas: Whether it’s a mythical creature or a political figure, come with a vision.
Food: Coffee and tea are available at the location on a donation system.
Location: Szendvicsbár community hub
Time: 2026. 05.10 from (14:00 to 19:00) and 2026.05.17( 10:00 -12:00)
Tickets/Registration: The Price for the 2 workshops is 15000 HUF (it includes the materials).
Registration by filling the form: https://forms.gle/FeYkxYrtbJB4eCRU6

Facilitator:
Eszter Tünde Virók is a puppet artist who has been making puppets for almost a decade now. She works with multiple techniques, such as papier-mache, woodcarving, and metalwork, but she is also passionate about zero-waste puppetry. She believes that puppetry is an unlimited playground where everything is possible and everything can have a soul.
