About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Welcome to Getting to know badgers at Rewilding Denmarkfield, an evening event run in collaboration with national charity Scottish Badgers! Join us for a relaxed but informative event where we will learn all about these charismatic creatures and the ecosystem benefits they can provide as we explore their natural habitat - a perfect way to celebrate Scottish Badger Week!

The event will kick of with an introductory talk about the species from expert Scottish Badger staff. Together, we will question some commonly-held criticisms, and go for a walk through the rewilding site to put this all into context. We will learn how to spot badger activity and discuss how badgers can shape the landscape as we go!

Don't miss this immersive opportunity to discover more about these elusive animals and their important role in the ecosystem. Spaces are limited, so book your spot today!

Children are welcome, with supervising adult, however we will be talking for approximately 30 minutes then walking across uneven ground for approximately 45 minutes, so please bear this in mind. Sturdy footwear is essential and please dress for the weather; warm layers and waterproofs are always a recommended backup!

Hot drinks and biscuits provided. Tickets free, but donations to help cover costs are very welcome on the day.

We encourage coming to the eventy by active travel or public transport. Suggested parking is at the Luncarty Memorial Hall, from which it is a 15 minute walk down to the allotments. However if this is an issue, please get in touch with us (laurie@denmarkfield.co.uk) to discuss other options.
