Getting Started with Azure Machine Learning Studio

Paige Bailey and Paul DeCarlo will be running a free Azure Machine Learning Studio workshop at the Houston Microsoft campus.
 
Workshop description:
In this workshop we will take a <A HREF="http://www.houstontx.gov/311/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Houston 311 data set</A> and attempt to predict the resolution times for service categories. Never executed a Machine Learning experiment before? This is a great place to start! No coding or previous experience is required. If you already have experience in machine learning, this is your chance to explore the capabilities of Azure Machine Learning Studio. We will begin with a review of the basic concepts of machine learning and data cleansing, and finish with deploying a predictive trained model.
 
What should I bring?
Bring enthusiasm and a fully-charged laptop!  No software required. This workshop will be conducted using a browser based tool.

 9:30 - 10:00am:  Arrive and get settled.
10:00 - 10:30am: Basics of machine learning.
10:30 - 11:00am: Overview of Azure Machine Learning Studio.
11:00 - 12:00pm:  Case study.
12:00 - 12:30pm: Questions and discussion.

Parking: 
Regarding parking, you should not have to pay, though you may have to walk depending on which garage you park in.  The facility is located North of the Bank of America and directly South of Brio on the South Side of City Centre (away from I-10 and south of the main shops).  There is a sign with the Microsoft logo outside of the building that should help locate.  Please be sure that you park in an appropriate location.  There is free parking across the street from Microsoft's building at 12711 Queensberry; it is next to Brio.
